Why JAGUAR hairdressing scissors feel different
Behind every JAGUAR hairdressing scissors lies precision manufacturing, experience, and clearly defined quality factors. They make all the difference in everyday salon life—noticeable with every cut.
Four quality factors for maximum cutting precision
Hairdressing scissors are high-precision tools – the result of in-depth expertise, intensive development, and decades of experience. Around 120 precise steps are required to complete a pair of JAGUAR hairdressing scissors.
In addition to design and appearance, four key quality factors define performance in everyday salon use: ergonomics, scissor tension & smoothness, cutting edge, and steel.
Ergonomics – when tools work with you
Hairdressers work with their hands, joints, and shoulders every day. That's why quality begins at JAGUAR Solingen with ergonomics.
Our hairdressing scissors are designed to support the natural position of the hand. The shape of the handle, thumb position, and cutting angle are precisely coordinated to reduce strain while increasing control and safety when cutting.
In everyday salon work, this is reflected in a balanced feel in the hand, fluid movements, and a cutting sensation that remains smooth and controlled even after many cuts. Ergonomically designed hairdressing scissors do not stand out—they simply feel right.
COMMONNESS & SHEAR TENSION – when movement gives control
When cutting, it is not only the position of the hand that counts, but also the movement of the scissors. Smoothness and scissor tension determine how easily hairdressing scissors can be opened and closed – and how controlled they glide through the hair.
At JAGUAR Solingen , this balance is achieved through the precise interplay of screw connections, blade geometry, and precisely adjusted tension. Each blade is individually dressed by hand and supported by computer-aided measuring procedures.
In everyday salon use, this manifests itself in smooth, steady movement without pulling or resistance. The scissors glide through the hair in a controlled manner and provide a cutting sensation that remains consistent—even with rapid cutting sequences and precise techniques. Correctly adjusted scissor tension is not consciously noticeable. It simply ensures that the scissors feel right—cut after cut.
THE CUTTING EDGE – when precision becomes visible
Ultimately, the cutting edge determines the result in the hair. It determines how clean a cut is, how controlled the work can be, and how clean the haircut turns out.
At JAGUAR Solingen , the cutting edge is created through the interplay of steel, cutting angle, and precise grinding. The shape and angle are coordinated so that the scissors cut the hair cleanly instead of squeezing or pulling it.
This is particularly evident in everyday salon work when using sensitive techniques. When slicing or creating precise contours, the blade glides through the hair in a controlled manner. No additional pressure is required, the line remains clear, and the cut appears smooth and even.
A well-tuned cutting edge works quietly and unobtrusively. You can't see it—you can recognize it by the result.
STEEL – the foundation of lasting quality
Every pair of hairdressing scissors is only as good as the steel from which it is made.
It forms the basis for sharpness, tension, and durability—and determines whether a pair of scissors still feels precise even after many uses.
At JAGUAR Solingen we use different types of steel, tailored to the performance level and area of application. For the majority of our hairdressing scissors, we use SOLINOX, a steel specially developed by us for professional hairdressing scissors. It combines high cutting performance, stability, and corrosion resistance, ensuring a reliable cutting experience in everyday salon use.
In our BLACK LINE models, MC steel is also used. Its particularly high degree of hardness enables extremely fine, durable cutting edges and very direct, controlled work – ideal for precise and demanding techniques.
Regardless of the type of steel, all blades are Solingen and hardened under controlled conditions at our own production facility in Solingen . The result is not loud, but consistent: stable tension, long-lasting sharpness, and a cutting feel that remains familiar even after months of use.
